School Organizations
School Site Council
School Site Councils were established by the State of California as a way to involve parents and teachers in important decisions regarding how their school functions. The School Site Council is the vehicle by which the school community can come together to chart a path toward continued growth and success. The Santa Rita School Site Council provides a forum for identifying common goals for school improvement and requires a plan for achieving these goals.
Technology Committee
The Technology Committee assists with the maintenance and improvements of technology at Santa Rita. Members help with planning, implementing, designing, and soliciting funds to help the school meet the 21st Century Classroom goals. The committee is made up of anyone interested in volunteering. Stakeholders such as the Principal and Computer Teacher are involved, but anyone else are free to participate. Anyone interested in joining the Technology Committee should contact Alfred Hong at hongalfred [at] yahoo.com.
Student Council
Students in 3rd-6th grade are involved in Student Council, which meets regularly to discuss student concerns, contribute to school and playground rules, and suggest ideas for special events. Each classroom selects two classroom representatives to serve in Student Council for the first half of the year, and then chooses another two students to serve for the last half of the year.
