Math Curriculum
Our math program is designed to:
- Support students to make sense of mathematics and learn that they can be mathematical thinkers
- Focus on computational fluency with whole numbers as a major goal
- Provide substantive work in - rational numbers, geometry, measurement, data analysis, early algebra, and the connections
- Emphasize reasoning about mathematical ideas
- Communicate mathematics content and pedagogy to teachers and students
- Engage the range of learners in understanding the depth, complexity, and “joy” of learning mathematics
The program is structured in such a way that by the end of 7th grade, students should be prepared and offered an authentic Algebra I course in grade 8.
