Title:
3rd Grade Teacher
Carrie Middleton

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” -Benjamin Franklin. This quote inspired me to become an educator and influences my classroom interactions with students. In my 17 years in the Los Altos School District, I strive to live up to Mr. Franklin’s quote knowing that I am entrusted with the academic and social-emotional learning of ALL students in my class. I taught first grade and was a Reading Specialist. Currently a 3rd grade teacher, I focus on building relationships and fostering an intrinsic motivation for curiosity and learning. I completed two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the University of California, Davis. I continued my education at San Jose State University earning an Elementary Multiple Subject Credential and M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. I live with my husband of 13 years, daughter, son, and our rescue mutt Tango. When I am not in the classroom, you will find me cooking/baking, knitting, listening to true crime podcasts and catching up on my Netflix queue.
