My name is Carly Wilcox and I am so excited to be teaching 6th grade at Santa Rita Elementary. I grew up in Santa Barbara County and attended the University of California Santa Barbara where I obtained my Bachelors in Psychology, as well as Masters in Education and teaching credential. This last year in the classroom has reaffirmed all the reasons I love teaching. My favorite part about being in the classroom is the relationships I get to build with my students. I believe in creating a strong, powerful classroom community where all students feel welcome and can succeed. I aspire to make a difference in each of my student’s lives by supporting the needs of all learners. Outside of the classroom, you can find me and my dog Ollie at a local coffee shop making friends with all the other dogs that walk by. I also love traveling, going on walks with my dog, and visiting my niece and nephew in Hawaii.
