Welcome back Bobcats!

I am so excited to get this new journey started here at Santa Rita! I hope you had a wonderful summer and found some time and space to relax and enjoy family and friends. Our team is so excited to welcome returning and new families back very soon.

The Armstrong crew spent some time in Avila Beach and Kauai taking it slow, playing golf, and enjoying the beautiful beaches. My wife, Kathryn, is actually starting a new principalship as well in the Union School district at Leitz Elementary. Our two boys (Connor-19 who goes to Oregon State and Cameron-17 who will be a senior at Fremont High School) are living their best lives at the moment. They both have summer jobs at Willow Street Pizza in Willow Glen so if you visit, you will likely have one of my kids helping you find your table:)

Our office team is back in the office and ready to go if you need anything. Anna and Cathy have been so helpful in helping learn about this incredible school and I am so excited to have Paul Ramirez as part of our team as Teacher in Charge. Isabel Cevallos is our new clerk/ family engagement liaison and will be a great asset to Santa Rita.

Teachers have been busy digging further into our Deeper Learning work and exploring our new math curriculum, all while getting their classrooms ready to go. Mr. Luis and our LASD maintenance team have our rooms and campus looking beautiful. All of our blacktop spaces have been resealed and painted and you won’t believe how nice they look.

I look forward to seeing you all at our popsicle event this Friday at 4:00 to kick off an amazing year of learning and joy!

LASD Back to School Steps

At Santa Rita, we are committed to providing every student with an exceptional learning experience, a commitment that requires support beyond public funding. LAEF and our PTAs have long shared the work of raising those funds. This year, fundraising responsibility for instructional programs and materials is shifting from PTAs to LAEF.

As you consider your school donations this year, we encourage families to prioritize giving to LAEF to support instructional programs and materials, such as arts curriculum and technology devices. Then please join the Santa Rita PTA and volunteer! Creating an exceptional school experience takes all of us.

LASD Back to School Steps:
Step 1: Donate to LAEF
Step 2: Join and support the PTA for each school your children attend
